Security

Security is scope-specific.

Review the people, process, application, infrastructure, product, data, AI, delivery, and supplier boundaries for the actual system. Proposed practices are not evidence that a control is deployed or independently tested.

Assessment domain

Identity & Access

Authentication

Verify supported authentication methods and enforcement in the specific system.

Authorization

Document roles, permission boundaries, and least-privilege tests for the agreed scope.

Privileged Access

Confirm named accounts, approval, duration, logging, and revocation procedures.

Access Lifecycle

Define request, approval, review, role change, and offboarding ownership.

Assessment domain

Data & Privacy

Data Classification

Identify public, internal, confidential, and restricted information and its handling rules.

Encryption

Verify transport/storage coverage, key ownership, and configuration for the selected stack.

Data Lifecycle

Agree purpose, minimization, retention, export, deletion, backup expiry, and exceptions.

Secrets

Confirm where credentials are stored, who can use them, and how they are revoked or rotated.

Assessment domain

Application & Development

Architecture Review

Identify assets, trust boundaries, threat assumptions, and proportionate mitigations.

Code Review

Agree required reviewers, tests, approvals, and deployment evidence.

Dependencies

Confirm dependency, license, and vulnerability review practices for the project.

API & Uploads

Review authentication, authorization, validation, rate limits, file handling, and abuse cases.

Assessment domain

Infrastructure & Operations

Environment Boundaries

Record hosting, provider, region, network, and environment boundaries.

Logging & Monitoring

Agree signals, redaction, retention, alert ownership, coverage, and escalation.

Vulnerability Handling

Define report intake, prioritization, remediation owner, verification, and disclosure.

Continuity

Document backup scope, restore evidence, dependencies, and recovery commitments.

Evidence boundary

Verify controls in the named environment.

These are review domains, not a checklist of controls APPNEURAL claims are operating. Confirm implementation owner, system scope, configuration, test date, result, exceptions, and evidence. SSO, MFA, encryption settings, scanning, logging, monitoring coverage, penetration testing, and certification must each be verified independently.

Identity and access lifecycle

Secure delivery lifecycle

Plan, review, test, release, and learn.

For each engagement, define security requirements, architecture and threat assumptions, implementation boundaries, review and test gates, deployment approvals, monitoring ownership, and incident responsibilities. The sequence is a delivery framework, not a statement that every gate is currently enforced across APPNEURAL environments.

Procurement

Make requirements explicit.

A security assessment should identify the service, system boundary, data, evidence needed, owner, and decision deadline.
